2024 Women Leading Tech Award - "Sustainability Crusader" Category

Such an honour to have won this award! So much work still to be done. Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years from within the residential property marketing, technology, governance and research sectors.

The judges comments:

“It has been said that Australia’s economy is based on two things — digging holes and building homes. While property might not be the first sector of the economy that springs to mind when one conjures up a digital transformation, Cecille Weldon is leading Australia’s property industry to a more sustainable future enabled by technology.
Her tireless and detailed work with the Proptech Association of Australia has led to its tech founders and businesses being given a “seat at the table” during the creation of a National Framework for disclosing the Energy Efficiency rating of new and existing Residential Property over the next two years. In large part, thanks to her work, we are one step closer to developing zero energy- and carbon-ready buildings in Australia. She has also worked to ensure that existing properties are not left behind with energy efficiency upgrades in homes and apartments and deeper property insights.
The scale of the transformation that Weldon has helped facilitate is remarkable. The rise of machine learning and AI-driven energy rating tools means that energy efficiency ratings can be accurately and correctly identified to provide commercial insights for green loans and existing property valuations.
She is also a mentor, working with the Stone & Chalk MentorMatch program, helping and guiding other founders towards business success.”

3 Part Series - The Paradox of “Sustainability”

Presenter - Unissu Connect - The Home of PropTech

Unissu connects buyers and sellers of PropTech and ReTech - globally. They are trusted by the biggest brands in real estate to save huge amounts of time and reduce risks associated with understanding, identifying and selecting the best PropTech vendors. I’m honoured to join their speaker line up for the annual Connect event.

The residential property marketing industry has failed to leverage opportunities hidden within the word "sustainability" - research shows that new homebuyer is looking for the lifestyle benefits sustainability brings - it's time to get educated, get up to speed and then get ahead.
